En La Semana Mundial de la Lactancia Materna, la Municipalidad realizará una charla con especialistas del tema
En el marco de la Semana Mundial de la Lactancia Materna que se extiende hasta el viernes 7 de agosto, la Municipalidad de La Costa ratifica el apoyo a la práctica y recuerda los beneficios de la leche materna para el desarrollo y la salud tanto del recién nacido como de la madre en el corto y largo plazo.
Desde el ministerio de Salud de la Nación se recuerda que del 1 al 7 de agosto se celebra en más de 170 países la Semana Mundial de la Lactancia Materna, con el objetivo de fomentar la lactancia materna, o natural y mejorar la salud de los bebés de todo el mundo. Se conmemora la Declaración de Innocenti, formulada por altos cargos de la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) y el UNICEF en agosto de 1990 con el fin de proteger, promover y respaldar la lactancia materna.
La OMS recomienda la lactancia natural como modo exclusivo de alimentación durante los seis primeros meses de vida; a partir de entonces se recomienda seguir con la lactancia materna hasta los 2 años, como mínimo, complementada adecuadamente con otros alimentos.
ACTIVIDAD ONLINE EN LA COSTA
Este viernes 7, a las 19.00, la Municipalidad de La Costa llevará adelante un Instagram live desde la cuenta @muni.lacosta con la temática «Lactancias informadas y elegidas». La charla «Dar la teta es tu elección, recibir información es tu derecho» está organizada en un trabajo en conjunto entre las secretarías de Salud y de Relaciones con la Comunidad,
La misma será brindada por dos especialistas en el tema: Mariela Pilaría (obstetra) y Magalí Denes (nutricionista), ambas profesionales que integran el área de salud del Hospital Municipal de Mar de Ajó.
Los bebés que son amamantados no solo sufren menos enfermedades infecciosas, sino que también tienen menos probabilidades de padecer, cuando sean adultos, enfermedades crónicas como obesidad, diabetes y cáncer. La práctica de la lactancia materna también cuida de la salud de la mamá, debido a que la protege del cáncer de mama y ovario, de la depresión posparto, la anemia, de la hipertensión, la osteoporosis y la artritis reumatoidea.
Los especialistas entienden que la leche materna siempre está adaptada a las necesidades y posibilidades del bebé, por eso la digiere mejor que a cualquier otra leche. Además, es más segura e higiénica. A través de la lactancia materna se brindan al bebé factores de protección (“anticuerpos”), que lo protegen contra las enfermedades más comunes, hasta que sea capaz de desarrollar su propio sistema inmunológico.
