Nuevo servicio en salud: se pone en funcionamiento el Centro Odontológico Municipal de La Costa
Este lunes 7 de julio a las 15.00, se realizará la presentación en comunidad del nuevo Centro Odontológico Municipal, que comenzará a funcionar en Santa Teresita, en el edificio del antiguo hospital ubicado en calle 39 y 5. El espacio fue reacondicionado especialmente para ofrecer atención odontológica integral, gratuita y de calidad a vecinos y vecinas de todas las edades del Partido de La Costa.
Con equipamiento de última generación y un equipo profesional especializado, el nuevo centro permitirá realizar prácticas que hasta ahora requerían ser derivadas a otras localidades. Se trata de una iniciativa que amplía significativamente la capacidad del sistema público de salud para garantizar el acceso a tratamientos odontológicos complejos.El intendente Juan de Jesús y la directora del nuevo servicio, la doctora Lorena Francisconi, recorrieron recientemente las instalaciones y destacaron el valor que este nuevo espacio tendrá para la comunidad. El centro contará con un área de odontopediatría, atención a personas con discapacidad y riesgo médico en planta baja, mientras que en el primer piso funcionarán los consultorios generales y un sector de especialidades para tratamientos de conducto y cirugías de mediana y alta complejidad.
La iniciativa también da continuidad al trabajo territorial en salud bucal que ya se desarrolla en escuelas e instituciones locales. “Es un orgullo enorme. Todo está pensado para cuidar al paciente y también al profesional que trabaja”, expresó Francisconi, quien desde hace años coordina campañas de prevención en el distrito.
La profesional destacó además la importancia del acceso gratuito: “La odontología es una de las especialidades más costosas y muchas veces inaccesible. Que cualquier persona en La Costa pueda acceder a una atención de calidad, tanto preventiva como de rehabilitación, es un privilegio para toda la comunidad”.
En simultáneo, el sistema de salud local avanza con obras como la ampliación del área de Pediatría en el Hospital Municipal de Mar de Ajó y la creación de un nuevo sector exclusivo para Neonatología, consolidando una política de salud pública cercana, inclusiva y de calidad.
