La pandemia del nuevo coronavirus ya causó más de 15.000 muertos y 350.000 contagiados en todo el mundo y sigue esparciéndose mientras los gobiernos de las 167 naciones afectadas continúan implementando medidas para intentar neutralizar el brote que se alza como uno de los desafíos sanitarios más importantes de la historia contemporánea.
Según el balance global actualizado este lunes por la Universidad Johns Hopkins, la pandemia del nuevo coronavirus se ha extendido a 167 países y territorios, con un total de 350.536 personas contagiadas y 15.328 víctimas mortales.
El número de personas que consiguieron curarse de COVID-19, la enfermedad generada por el coronavirus, asciende a 100.182, mientras que China sigue siendo el país más afectado, con 81.496 personas contagiadas, 3.274 víctimas mortales y 72.817 personas curadas.
Italia permanece en segunda posición, con 59.138 contagios, 5.476 víctimas mortales y 7.024 personas recuperadas, mientras que Estados Unidos se colocó desde este fin de semana como el tercer país más afectado por la pandemia, al contabilizar un total de 35.224 casos y 471 víctimas mortales, informó hoy la agencia de noticias DPA.
En cuarta posición se sitúa España, con 28.768 positivos, 1.813 muertos y 2.575 personas recuperadas, según los datos actualizados este lunes.
Alemania es el quinto país más afectado, con 24.873 casos, 94 fallecidos y 266 personas dadas de alta, e Irán sigue a continuación, con 21.638 positivos, 1.685 muertos y 7.913 personas recuperadas.
Francia acumula un total de 16.243 casos de coronavirus, con 676 víctimas mortales y 2.201 personas recuperadas, seguida por Corea del Sur, que durante varias semanas llegó a ser el país con más contagios del mundo después de China y que ahora tiene el brote en situación casi controlada, con 8.961 positivos, 111 muertos y 3.166 personas curadas.
Suiza contabiliza 7.474 casos positivos y 98 muertos, seguida por Reino Unido, con 5.745 casos y 282 fallecidos.
Países Bajos, por su parte, acumula 4.217 casos positivos, con 180 víctimas mortales y Austria, con 3.582 personas contagiadas y 16 víctimas mortales, seguida de cerca por Bélgica, que ya tiene 3.401 positivos y 75 muertos y Noruega, con 2.385 contagios y siete víctimas mortales. Suecia, Portugal, Australia, Brasil, Dinamarca, Canadá, Malasia, Israel, Turquía, República y Japón completan la lista de países con más de un millar de personas contagiadas.
