Se recuerda la importancia de las acciones cotidianas para prevenir el dengue
Ante las condiciones climáticas de abundante calor y humedad que favorecen la proliferación de los mosquitos, la Municipalidad de La Costa recuerda a la comunidad la importancia de llevar adelante una serie de acciones cotidianas sencillas para prevenir el dengue.
Al hablar de dengue se hace referencia a una enfermedad viral transmitida por la picadura del mosquito Aedes aegypti. La transmisión se da cuando el mosquito se alimenta con sangre de una persona enferma de dengue y luego pica a otras personas.
El contagio sólo se produce por la picadura de los mosquitos infectados, nunca de una persona a otra, ni a través de objetos o de la leche materna.
Los síntomas que puede presentar la enfermedad son fiebre acompañada de dolor detrás de los ojos, de cabeza, muscular y de articulaciones; náuseas y vómitos; cansancio intenso; aparición de manchas en la piel; y picazón y/o sangrado de nariz y encías. Ante estos síntomas debe acudirse al médico.
¿CÓMO SE PUEDE PREVENIR LA APARICIÓN DEL MOSQUITO?
-Eliminando todos los recipientes en desuso que puedan acumular agua (como latas, botellas, neumáticos).
-Dando vuelta los objetos que se encuentran en el exterior y pueden acumular agua cuando llueve (baldes, palanganas, tambores).
-Cambiando el agua de bebederos de animales, colectores de desagües de aire acondicionado o lluvia, dentro y fuera de la casa, cada 3 días.
-Rellenando los floreros y portamacetas con arena húmeda.
-Manteniendo los patios limpios y ordenados y los jardines desmalezados.
-Limpiando canaletas y desagües de lluvia de los techos.
-Tapando los tanques y recipientes que se usan para recolectar agua.
¿CÓMO PREVENIR LA PICADURA DEL MOSQUITO?
-Usando siempre repelentes siguiendo cuidadosamente las recomendaciones del envase.
-Utilizando ropa clara que cubra los brazos y las piernas, especialmente durante las actividades al aire libre.
-Colocando mosquiteros en puertas y ventanas, y cuando sea posible usar ventiladores o aire acondicionado en las habitaciones.
-Protegiendo cunas y cochecitos de bebés con telas mosquiteras.
-Utilizando repelentes ambientales como tabletas y espirales.
