Este verano continuará el programa “La Costa Respira”, con playas libres de humo
El verano 2018 se aproxima y ante su inminente llegada, la Municipalidad de La Costa recuerda que desde 2012 cuenta con espacios de playas libres de humo. El programa “La Costa Respira”, nacido con el objetivo de promover hábitos saludables, conforma un total de 2.600 metros de playas libres de humo.
“Esta medida tiene como objetivo promover hábitos saludables y la protección del medio ambiente”, señaló Juan Pablo de Jesús, el intendente de La Costa. En la misma línea es que, además de la construcción de siete Polideportivos Municipales, se han instalado en estos años plazas deportivas en las Costaneras en San Bernardo, Mar de Ajó, Costa del Este y la más reciente, en Santa Teresita. El programa continuará en otras localidades, además.
La iniciativa de “La Costa Respira”, además de promover hábitos saludables, protege el medioambiente, al evitar la acumulación de colillas de cigarrillos que contaminan las playas. Los sectores “libres de humo” se extienden a lo largo del distrito y en las playas de los Paradores Municipales.
Incluso, desde la dirección de Inclusión Juvenil de la Municipalidad se ejecutan programas en las playas con el objetivo de desalentar el tabaquismo. El fin educativo es también la importancia de la conducta de los adultos ante los más pequeños, como figuras modélicas que son. Es decir, un claro posicionamiento negativo ante el tabaco hará que muchos jóvenes no empiecen a fumar, ya que la imitación de la conducta de los adultos forma parte de los factores causales del inicio.
