Esta ampliación permitirá sumar más comodidades para los 1.200 alumnos y alumnas que cursan en este establecimiento educativo de la zona centro, y que llegan de diversos puntos del Partido de La Costa.
Cabe recordar que la Municipalidad asumió el compromiso de llevar adelante esta obra mientras, junto al gobierno de la provincia de Buenos Aires, se avanza en la nueva infraestructura (la obra ya fue licitada) para que la Escuela de Educación Técnica N° 1 de Santa Teresita cuente con un nuevo edificio.
Una vez construido el nuevo edificio de la Escuela Técnica N° 1, en un predio de 4 mil metros cuadrados adquirido por la Municipalidad de La Costa, en calle 27 y Ruta 11 de Santa Teresita, estas 4 aulas se convertirán en un Centro de Formación Profesional para la localidad.
La Escuela Técnica N° 1 de Santa Teresita es, junto a la Escuela Técnica N° 2 de Mar de Ajó, las de mayor matrícula de la escuela secundaria del distrito.
En Santa Teresita, los alumnos pueden elegir luego del Ciclo Básico seguir las Tecnicaturas de Construcción, Programación y Turismo. En tanto que en Mar de Ajó se puede estudiar y especializarse de 4° a 7° año en Electromecánica y Tecnología de los Alimentos.
INFRAESTRUCTURA EN ESTABLECIMIENTOS EDUCATIVOS
Actualmente, el Partido de La Costa cuenta con varios frentes de obras que incluyen la nueva infraestructura en el edificio del nuevo Centro Universitario de La Costa en Santa Teresita; y la construcción del nuevo Jardín de Infantes N° 920 en Mar del Tuyú, ubicado en Avenida 94 y 5, entre otras obras proyectadas para este año.
Además, en 2022 se puso en funcionamiento la Escuela Primaria N° 16 en Santa Teresita, que próximamente contará con su propio edificio, y la Municipalidad de La Costa también proyectó la construcción de otra nueva escuela que ya ha sido licitada: la Escuela Primaria N° 17 en Costa Chica.
En carpeta también están proyectadas y en proceso administrativo la futura Escuela Primaria N° 18 de Mar del Tuyú y también una escuela primaria y un jardín de infantes para Nueva Atlantis, debido al crecimiento poblacional de esta localidad y del barrio El Silvio de Mar de Ajó. La matrícula escolar en el Partido de La Costa ya supera los 25 mil estudiantes en jardines, primarias y secundarias.
Además, durante la gestión del intendente Cardozo se construyeron 11 aulas nuevas en jardines de infantes, escuelas primarias y secundarias, y para este año el jefe comunal adelantó que serán construidas 14 aulas nuevas. Estas 25 aulas nuevas equivalen a cuatro escuelas nuevas.
Asimismo, entre 2021 y 2022 se realizaron 24 obras de refacción, reacondicionamiento y ampliación en los siguientes jardines, y las escuelas primarias y secundarias del distrito.
